Q To 12 July Quarry Theatre A truly enlightening show for all the family, Monkey is a very modern hero – anarchic, impulsive, but above all else true to his friends. Fast paced storytelling and high wire antics combine in this hugely physical and visual show based on the Chinese legend Journey to the West, better known in the UK through its 70’s TV incarnation
C To 12 July Mela A world premiere of this new play by Tajinder Singh Hayer, as part of Northern Exposure, celebrating new writing in the North.

A Tale of Two Cities Choreographed by Cathy Marston, previously an Associate Artist of the Royal Opera House, this World premiere from Northern Ballet Theatre features a new score by Dave Maric, played live by the company's own orchestra.

C 31 January 2009 to 21 February 2009: The Hounding of David Oluwale Adapted from Kester Aspden’s critically acclaimed book, this timely, gripping play unravels the mystery of Oluwale’s life and violent death, revealing a chilling and resonant story of persecution and prejudice.
C 22 - 24 January Company Along The Mile Stella an George are no ordinary couple. For starters they're not a couple. They just meet in a hotel in Blackpool every Wednesday where transvestite Stella likes to eat sandwiches cut into triangles, whilst the two of them look over the obituaries.
