London Gatwick Airport is Gatwick is the second largest airport in the UK after Heathrow

The Worlds busiest airport with a single runway.

The sixth busiest international airport in the world.

It has schedule airline services, No frill airlines, and charter flights.

Gatwick Airport has good land connections with central London 45km (28 miles) and other Airports such as London City, Luton, and Heathrow


London Gatwick Airport has 2 terminals, North terminal   and South terminal .  There is a quick monorail system that connects both terminals. This is not the old monorail that used to connect South Terminal to the South Satellite, the big round gate building with gates off it.

The newer North Terminal is nicer than the South, but both terminals have a full set of facilities.

North Terminal Gatwick airport

Check in

check in is located on the second floor.
Flight numbers (shown on your ticket) and destinations are displayed on TV monitors at the entrance to the terminal, indicating which zone to check in at. Check in zones (A, B ,C etc.) are clearly signed on the check in concourse by illuminated yellow signs.

Transfer between North South Gatwick Terminals by Monorail

The 2 terminals are connected by a monorail system. Trains run every 3 4 minutes.  Journey time 2 minutes

North Terminal

the monorail is on The Avenue shopping floor which is between the Departure/check in level and the Arrivals level.

South Terminal

The monorail station is on the main Departures/Arrivals floor close to the main Gatwick Airport train station. Follow the signs.

Gatwick Airport Information Desks

Each arrivals concourse has an information desk where multi lingual staff are on hand to deal with enquiries, usually 24 hours a day. Public address announcements are made from the desks and they have message boards

How to get to Gatwick Airport

Gatwick airport is 45kms (28 miles) south of London roughly half way towards Brighton, and about 6 miles north of Crawley.

London Gatwick is , directly linked to the M23 motorway at junction 9 and to the A23 London Brighton road. Just a 10 minute drive away, the M25 further connects with the UK's extensive road and motorway network.

Gatwick Station

Gatwick station is connected to London Victoria station by the following services

  • A frequent train service from London Victoria station
  • Standard train and local rail commuter services.  Gatwick Airport is well connected for trains to destinations throughout the UK. Direct services from Gatwick include trains to Tonbridge, Hastings, Brighton, Reading and Bedford.

Airport Coach station

The Gatwick airport's coach station is at the South Terminal, but most services also call at the North Terminal. There are coach information and ticket desks in the arrivals areas of both terminals. There is a mono rail connection between the North and South terminals

National Coach Connections


Gatwick is connected to over 400 towns and cities across the UK by a variety of frequent, daily coach services. Most airport services are in air conditioned vehicles.

Some of the direct services available include those to Heathrow, London, Bristol, Brighton, Birmingham, Oxford. Cambridge and Norwich

Gatwick Coach stations

The main coach station is on the ground floor at South Terminal and is accessible by lift, walkway and escalator. A majority of services also call at North Terminal, on the lower level outside International Arrivals.
The Heathrow Gatwick National Express services drop passengers off right outside Departures at the North Terminal.

Tickets can be bought at National Express ticket desks in Arrivals at both South and North Terminals. There is also a ticket desk and covered waiting area in the South Terminal coach station.  To save time book online National Express

Non stop Gatwick Heathrow airport transfer

National Express Airport's 700 service runs up to 125 times a day between Heathrow and Gatwick. At peak times coaches leave every 10 15 minutes
Journey time of approximately 80 minutes
depending upon the time of day. Journeys may take longer at peak times.

Ye Olde Six Bells Horley (3km)
